The jaguar, my neighbor 4

Free and healthy always be
On June 28, 2018, a young jaguar (Panthera onca) crossed in front of a camera installed further south on the Cat Trail. I named Charlie, in homage to the illustrious comic Charlie Chaplin, whose face is stamped on one of the jaguar’s rosettes (see the next photo). Charlie walked past the camera and sniffed the equipment and I know that her nose smelled the molecules of my biological signature, washed out by the rains, the few tiny particles that my hand left on the equipment. The young jaguar showed the left side and heading towards the federal roadway BR174.
In the following months I created a certain expectation, I looked for Charlie in all the new records, thinking that he would record again, I was even worried thinking about the worst. Crossing the highway, Charlie would find on the other side a very inhabited area with very little game, in addition to residents without the slightest concern for the preservation of jaguars. Sorry Charlie, I put all vacillating thoughts out of my mind and I see you free and healthy in the immense Uatumã Biological Reserve. Although my area has the highway on the west side, in the opposite direction there is a large forest, a wild corridor of 20 km that leads to the edge of a large lake, Balbina. This lake is full of islands, where jaguars can be seen crossing to the other side of the lake and in the opposite direction. There is the perfect realm of pure forest, the Uatumã Biological Reserve. That’s where I picture you, Charlie, firmly believing that focused thought has the power to direct the physical world.
Since April 23 of the same year, when I recorded the first jaguar, heading towards the highway, I almost always have the record of the same jaguar coming back. I suppose that jaguars living in a healthy forest without fences, when faced with a more intense human presence, tend to move away, returning to their original environment…

Hug to Charlie
The record only shows the left side, where the rosette is located that will identify it in the next records. One of the rosettes, enlarged in the photo on the right, looks like Charlie Chaplin. I can see the famous comic without difficulty, so I leave it to you to identify it.
In addition to Charlie Chaplin I can see John Lennon, in the rosette a little to the left and also Che Guevara to the right. I cannot hide a certain affection for Charlie, as the your cat draws the greatest symbols of my generation on her skin. It’s likely that if I found this Charlie, I would run to hug.
