Pressure of the moment
Jaguar or, in the tupi, iauaretê (Panthera onca).
Photo taken at CIGS (Centro de Instrução de Guerra na Selva), where the military raises jaguars as a mascot. There are several works that I carried out in this place and I thank the patience in how my requests were answered somewhat strange and even risky, such as entering the jaguar’s cage or releasing it in the forest so that I could photograph it in a natural environment. In this photograph the jaguar has been isolated from the background and placed in a horizontal layout. The next photo is the original, a vertical shot. The reason for creating versions with horizontal and vertical orientation is basically to have greater elasticity in the graphic layout. Remembering that the purpose of Stock Photography is to respond to a request with already available files. Of course, the ideal is to produce both versions in the shot session, but this is not always possible, as sometimes the pressure of the moment is too great.

Photographic objectivity
Jaguar or, in the tupi, iauaretê (Panthera onca).
It is quite common for a lay person to think that changing a photograph in editing applications is a misrepresentation of its originality. This is due to the widespread thought that photography represents reality as it is. This is a big mistake! It is important to clarify that photography has always been a subjective representation of reality, that is, just like in any other art, in ours too, the photographer’s beliefs ruthlessly reflect on the final image. I believe that the jaguar is in danger of extinction and I write an article communicating this possibility of extinction to a certain audience. Of course, the article will present my opinion, and I will write this article in the best possible way, I will avoid all spelling mistakes, I will formulate the sentences in a coherent and understandable way. I’m going to write a first draft, but I’m not satisfied and start all over again. Photography is like that too. Completely subjective. There are several styles of photography and they all seek to present an image that is aesthetically valid. Now we already have two factors that definitely distance photography from objectivity: ideology and aesthetics.
