My friend the dolphin!

My friend the dolphin!
Amazon River Dolphin (Inia geoffrensis)
At first, the 4-year-old girl instinctively holds her hands, keeping them close to her body. However, that distrust only lasts for a few moments and, as if the boto infused courage, she soon lets go and goes to meet its new friend. The outstretched hand is the clear sign of communication beyond human words. You can even tell the child what he needs to do, encourage, reassure, this can even help, maybe, but what I want to show is that there is a type of direct communication between the boto and the child. This is the extraordinary fact to understand how we are going to re-establish this lost link with nature. Photograph taken in the Negro river with wild and free river dolphins.

Oh my! Who is he?
Amazon River Dolphin (Inia geoffrensis)
This was the first contact photo. Oh my! Who is he? What moment! How many emotions! In that innocent little head, the experience was engraved in bold letters, preparing a really open future to the world of nature, an ability to communicate beyond words.

Trust me, he’s a friend!
Amazon River Dolphin (Inia geoffrensis)
We are in a natural environment, with no fences or confinements. The boto is an animal that lives free in the wild on the Rio Negro. The mammal approaches, lets itself be touched and at no time shows discomfort in the situation. Without delay, a loving, sincere and fun contact is established on both sides. The younger child takes a while to let go, but the boy’s confidence encourages her and spontaneously his hand extends for direct contact.
