Dark wonder (Catasetum saccatum)
The orchid receives exotic names such as ‘dark wonder’ or ‘dark warrior’ for its petals and dark burgundy sepals. As for the wonders, like every orchid, there are many: just observe their forms and we will already have an advanced contemplation practice. Despite the superficiality of our time and its distance from nature (nature deficit disorderNature Deficit Disorder – Nature Deficiency is a phrase coined by Richard Louv in his 2005 book “The Last Child in the Woods” which means that humans, especially children, are spending less time outdoors resulting in a wide range of behavioral problems, a type of illness that introduces types of debilitation of physical and emotional order.) generates a difficulty in maintaining a serene and contemplative gaze, the interest in nature is fundamental and therapeutic and therefore any earthling with a minimum of sensitivity cannot stop admiring the beauties of our planet and thus… heal yourself.

Cluster of Catasetum saccatum
Bunch of flowers just after flowering. Thus, out of nowhere, a bunch of flowers is born. This fact alone is a great cause for wonder. The orchidist watches his plants, he sees the moment when flowering begins. It’s life manifesting itself! He accompanies the whole process and is aware of the miracle that is happening in front of his eyes, every day a little more until the culmination of strength. All that energy is shared by the observer, who also benefits from the process.
