Bifrenaria rudolfii
The original image has a more dominant background, which confuses the flower design. In this photographic version, the foreground was then isolated to reduce background brightness and thus allow the main subject of the photo to stand out as it deserves. The human eye is an extremely ingenious organic apparatus and, by its nature, it performs this operation of highlighting what matters in physical reality. Photographic reality, due to its two-dimensional quality, is more ‘limited’ compared to three-dimensional vision. The photographer needs to take this into account: the difference between the three-dimensional view of physical reality and the photographic interpretation of physical reality. It needs to adapt, as much as possible, to the incomparable power of interpretation of the eye, which is why it is desirable to include depth in the image. It should be noted that this ‘limitation’ of photography opens up a range of techniques and challenges that invite you to overcome it. Here is the opportunity of photography as art.

Cover processing
The original image, on the left, has a blurring of foreground and background. The procedure to highlight the flower was to isolate it with a mask and act on the background by darkening and blurring it. The image on the right is the result of the process.

And since the flower was isolated I decided to create two more versions of it with a black background, horizontal and vertical.
