About

The website’s graphic design is under development, as is its content and meets the pre-defined criteria of simplicity and lightness. The minimalist navigation is intended to facilitate familiarity with the environment.

The view is optimized for browsing on desktop as well as mobile devices, keeping in mind that the vast majority of users prefer the mobile phone.

Advertising has been excluded so that all attention is directed to enjoying the photograph.

The Site Menu consists of 6 sections and is available in the header and footer of each page on the site.

  • HOME is the home page of the site and shows a list of the 30 most recent published articles. Each article is composed of a cover photograph, which is the main subject complemented by a caption/description of the image and its metadata, referring to the technical information. Other related images are still listed, with captions and metadata and, when available, images with a vertical layout.
  • Index is the Photographic Archive’s indexing system based on a list of Categories and Subcategories. Each term contains the number of photographs included in the term. A Cloud of Keywords, always with the number next to it, allows a differentiated selection of images, with more specific words such as joy, photographic tip, aerial photo, candid shot, etc.
  • Blog is a list of more elaborated articles, such as essays, historical facts, photographic subjects and even agroecology.
  • Glossary is a dictionary of terms that can be consulted directly at this link. Words belonging to the glossary are automatically activated in any article that contains them, and displayed as a tooltip.
  • Info is the link that opens all the behind-the-scenes pages. For example this page About the site how to use the site and others about the site’s social-educational project and other complementary projects, the press release, the photographer’s biography, etc. These items are accessed through the sub-menu.
  • Contact is where direct communication with the site’s work team is established. You can also communicate through pages and articles with comments, published on the same page. At the bottom of every page there is a form to subscribe to the site’s newsletter.
  • The Language selector allows you to switch between English and Portuguese, however little. The possibility of adding other languages such as Spanish and French is being studied.
